And a small part of the story is Jamie missing things from home, and being in contact with an inventor to try to recreate that technology in this new world.īut, it's also a fairly new society when it comes to crime. They don't know how CPR can save a victim after drowning. They've just made cars for example, but no seatbelts or red lights.
But because they've been so focused on magic, certain science just hasn't been discovered. Some of the things they can do with magic isn't something we can do with technology. Here the world has magic, and as society evolved they focused more on magic than technology. It has a beautiful blend of magic and technology. What do I love the most about these books? The world honestly. She then partners up with Henri which is like the magical version of CSI. She then decide to use her training as an FBI Agent to become a Cop and solve crimes. The plot is very simple: Jamie got teleported (By an evil witch actually) to another world and found that she couldn't return home. Magic and the Shinigami Detective only had a little over 2000 ratings on goodreads and only 200 reviews and I feel like it's such a waste that such a good book isn't more wildly known: So here I am! But it's the one most wildly used I think and the one database that has the biggest number. Now, I know Goodreads isn't used by everyone. While looking at my top rated Urban Fantasy, I found an alarming trend: A large amount of my 5 star and 4 star books were books that barely had any ratings.
